The reason why I\u2019m writing this is that I know that a lot of the members of <strong>My Transgender Date<\/strong> are going to find this helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Most Popular Trans Symbol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">A lot of popular symbols are used to <strong>identify the transgender community<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">These often consist of modified traditional symbols that signify the female and male genders.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/12\/most-popular-transgender-symbol-edited-879x1024.png\" alt=\"most popular transgender symbol\" class=\"wp-image-2667\" style=\"width:280px;height:325px\" width=\"280\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/12\/most-popular-transgender-symbol-edited-879x1024.png 879w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/12\/most-popular-transgender-symbol-edited-258x300.png 258w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/12\/most-popular-transgender-symbol-edited-768x895.png 768w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/12\/most-popular-transgender-symbol-edited.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The most popular<\/strong> and commonly used symbol (in LGBT Pride) is :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the one that has a circle with a cross projecting from the bottom (which forms the Venus female symbol)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an arrow on the top right that depicts the symbol of Mars male<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a struck arrow which combines the female cross and the male arrow which can be found on the top-left<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s also mostly rendered in blue with a background of a pink triangle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Origin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The trans symbol originated from <strong>the American \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gendertalk.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gender Talk<\/a>\u201d radio station<\/strong>. It came from a drawing by Holly Boswell of North Carolina, USA. She passed this design on to Wendy Pierce of IFGE who also passed it on to Nancy Nangeroni (founder of Gender Talk) for computer generation. However, some say that this symbol has already been <strong>used some time before 2002<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Variations of the Most Popular Transgender Symbol<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Variation 1<\/strong> \u2013 A symbol with Venus on the bottom and Mars on the upper right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Variation 2<\/strong> \u2013 A symbol with Venus and Mars combined on the upper right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Variation 3<\/strong> \u2013 The current trans symbol but with a diagonal strikethrough inside the circle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Variation 4<\/strong> &#8211; A symbol with Mercury on top and Venus on the bottom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Symbols Related to the Transgender Community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>symbols for the transgender<\/strong> community are as varied as its members. Apart from the most popular and widely used symbol to <strong>represent transgender people<\/strong>, the inverted triangle is also used to symbolize people of the trans community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inverted Triangle Symbol<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Please know that I don\u2019t have access to everything that represents the transgender community. I\u2019m only going to enlist the most popular and widely used ones.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transphobia Symbol<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">This is mostly used to <strong>debunk the common misconceptions<\/strong> about It was <strong>designed in 1999<\/strong> and first appeared at a pride parade which was held in 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meaning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Helms described it as :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The stripes at the top and bottom are light blue, <strong>the traditional color for baby boys<\/strong>. The stripes next to them are pink, the traditional color for baby girls. The stripe in the middle is white, for those who are transitioning or consider themselves <strong>having a neutral or undefined gender<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Transgender flags and other pride flags are mostly <strong>used in<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>movements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>celebrations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>parades<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>commemorations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\u2019re also used in the <a href=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/2020\/11\/what-is-transgender-day-of-remembrance-tdor\">Transgender Day of Remembrance<\/a> and Transgender Awareness Week in the UK and the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transgender Flag Variations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">There are <strong>other variations of the transgender flag<\/strong>. A Black Transgender Flag variant of it was created by a black trans activist and writer named Raquel Williams. This particular flag replaces the white stripe with a black one to add black trans people\u2019s struggles with <strong>racial discrimination<\/strong> in the mix. Other variations are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lindsay Design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Andrew Design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kaleidoscope<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Israeli<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Please know that these symbols and flags were created to <strong>represent the transgender community<\/strong>. Nothing has more weight or is better than the other and you may choose the variation that you feel is the best to represent yourself.
