These are all factors as to why they have <strong>thoughts of suicide <\/strong>and why their mental health is often compromised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">From the American Academy of Pediatrics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>41.8 percent of transgender teens<\/strong> have stated that they attempted suicide at some point in their lives. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>29.9 percent of which are transgender female teens<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Trevor Project (2019)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">According to The Trevor Project, a national study showed that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>40% of trans adults<\/strong> reported having made a suicide attempt. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>92% of these people<\/strong> shared that they\u2019ve attempted suicide before the age of 25.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Added to that, transgender people have <strong>the highest rates of suicidality<\/strong> from a national survey made in 2019 by The Trevor Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"882\" height=\"496\" src=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/The_Trevor_Project-edited.jpeg\" alt=\"trevor project guy\" class=\"wp-image-3735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/The_Trevor_Project-edited.jpeg 882w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/The_Trevor_Project-edited-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/The_Trevor_Project-edited-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 882px) 100vw, 882px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The survey showed that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>54% of transnon-binary, and gender non conforming individuals<\/strong> have considered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>while <strong>29% of them<\/strong> have attempted suicide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">These numbers are quite large compared to <strong>31% (considered) and 14% (attempted)<\/strong> of cisgender individuals from their LGBTQ youth study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[[SIGNUP]]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transgender Individuals and the Workforce<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The United States Supreme Court has issued a ruling in 2020 which determines whether <strong>a trans individual whose gender assigned at birth<\/strong> does not match their current innate sense of being:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>female<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>male<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>both<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or neither<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>are under the protection of the federal law from <strong>discrimination in employment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/Transgender_Individuals_in_the_Workforce-v3-edited.jpg\" alt=\"transgender individuals\" class=\"wp-image-3743\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/Transgender_Individuals_in_the_Workforce-v3-edited.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/Transgender_Individuals_in_the_Workforce-v3-edited-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/Transgender_Individuals_in_the_Workforce-v3-edited-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/07\/Transgender_Individuals_in_the_Workforce-v3-edited-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">This opens the angle on whether transgender individuals can earn a reasonable amount of income without having to live with <strong>fear of losing their jobs<\/strong> by expressing their gender identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In a new study made by The Conversation in 2020, <strong>protections for trans individuals<\/strong> are deeply needed. On almost all measures of social and economic well-being, trans individuals have it worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">On a survey of <strong>400,000 Americans<\/strong> back in 2014-2015, the majority of trans individuals have reported that they were poor, unemployed, and have no college education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only <strong>14% of them<\/strong> were college-educated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>42% are not working<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and <strong>31% are living in poverty<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transgender Statistics in Life Satisfaction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Most trans people experience <strong>discrimination, rejection, and exclusion<\/strong>. Making them prone to suicide and making the latter a leading cause of death. Listed below are the results from a <strong>Life Satisfaction survey<\/strong> that was made by the BMC Public Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transgender (Binary)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Satisfied &#8211; 7.4%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neutral &#8211; 22.2%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissatisfied &#8211; 70.4%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Transgender (Non-binary)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Satisfied &#8211; 17.9%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neutral &#8211; 16.4%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissatisfied &#8211; 65.7%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cisgender (Male)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Satisfied &#8211; 40.6%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neutral &#8211; 25.6%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissatisfied &#8211; 33.8%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cisgender (Female)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Satisfied &#8211; 38.4%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neutral &#8211; 26.6%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissatisfied &#8211; 35%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From <strong>the statistics<\/strong> above, you\u2019ll clearly see the disparity when it comes to life satisfaction between cisgender and transgender individuals.
