Everything that will be listed here will be based on facts and is created for educational purposes only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transgender Science<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The science behind the determining factors of what our s*x and gender would be is quite complicated. This may be the reason why transgender studies are often discredited and not given enough attention. Furthermore, psychological studies about transgender people are not given enough respect for the majority to believe in its existence.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>However, according to biological studies, <a href=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/2024\/11\/gender-expression-vs-gender-identity-the-nuances\">gender identity<\/a> is genetic. Transgender genetics studies have begun in the late 90s but up to now, a lot of naysayers are still reluctant in digesting the facts. One way to test whether a trait (which can range from hair color to cancer susceptibility to interests) is related to genetics and environment and it\u2019s usually done by utilizing <strong>TWIN STUDIES<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identical twins share the same genetic background and often share the same environment. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fraternal (nonidentical) twins however, <strong>share only half of their genes<\/strong>, but are often raised in the same environment as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If identical twins share a trait more than fraternal twins, <strong>it\u2019s probably related to genetics<\/strong>. Added to that, several studies have shown that identical twins are more often both transgender than fraternal twins, which says a lot about <strong>genetics relating to transgenderism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transgender genetics and what genes might be responsible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to studies, <strong>transgender women\u2019s brain cells resemble cisgender women\u2019s<\/strong> (assigned female at birth and identify as women) more than they do with cisgender men\u2019s (assigned male at birth and identify as men).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two s*xually dimorphic (what differs between men and women) areas of the brain are often compared between women and men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1043\" height=\"587\" src=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Transgender_genetics_and_what_genes_might_be_responsible-edited.jpg\" alt=\"Petri dish\" class=\"wp-image-2075\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Transgender_genetics_and_what_genes_might_be_responsible-edited.jpg 1043w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Transgender_genetics_and_what_genes_might_be_responsible-edited-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Transgender_genetics_and_what_genes_might_be_responsible-edited-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Transgender_genetics_and_what_genes_might_be_responsible-edited-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1043px) 100vw, 1043px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The BSTc (Bed nucleus of the stria) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and s*xually dimorphic nucleus <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>of transgender women are more alike to those of cisgender women\u2019s than those of cisgender men\u2019s. Suggesting that the general brain structure of these women matches their gender identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added to that, scientists discovered that <strong>male-to-female (MTF) transgender individuals\u2019 BSTc more closely resembles a cisgender woman\u2019s<\/strong> in both size and cell density by two independent research teams in 1995 and 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4987404\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4987404\/<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[[SIGNUP]]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What causes Transgenderism?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you know <strong>the science behind transgender individuals<\/strong> and that genetics are involved as to why some people are transgender, it\u2019s also time for you to get into the psychological aspect of transgenderism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In psychology, transgenderism has been proven to exist because of the mental disorder (not to be confused with mental illness) called <a href=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/the-gender-dysphoria-guide-and-what-you-must-know\">gender dysphoria<\/a>. People who are transgender mostly manifest the traits of a trans person simply by their gravitation towards the aspects that are more associated with the gender that they identify with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gender dysphoria is quite common in transgender people and varies at different levels. This is why some choose to undergo <a href=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/2020\/05\/what-to-expect-from-a-transgender-surgery\">sex reassignment surgery SRS (Transsexual People)<\/a>&nbsp; and some do not. Some trans people get the top surgery (removal or augmenting of the breasts) and are completely fine with just that while some don\u2019t want to undergo any surgery at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hormone Replacement Therapy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of trans people\u2019s gender dysphoria is treated with the help of <a href=\"https:\/\/mytransgenderdate.com\/blog\/2020\/05\/what-is-transgender-hormone-replacement-therapy\">hormone replacement therapy (HRT)<\/a>. As mentioned before:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>gender dysphoria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or gender identity disorder (GID)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>varies at levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why knowing Transgender Science is Important<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason why one must know the basics of transgenderism, <strong>most especially the science behind it<\/strong>, is playing a role in educating people that transgender people didn\u2019t just spring out of nowhere. They exist for a reason and they deserve a place in this world. They experience a lot of trauma that strips away their dignity and are not given the equal opportunity that cisgender people get without an effort be it in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>workforce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>establishments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>acceptance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, in some countries, being transgender can prove to be fatal which we will be talking about in the next section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transgender abuse support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Transgender people, most especially trans women in the United States, are being killed because of their gender identity every month.
