Rivera’s life intertwined with that of Daniel Cuervo, and the two shared a home in the vibrant heart of New York City.

The course of her journey took a poignant turn when, on February 5, 2019, her presence was tragically absent from her apartment.

The news of her passing initially surfaced through a somber Facebook post by Cuervo, an announcement that would only receive widespread media coverage half a year later.

While the authorities officially labeled her death as a result of suicide by hanging, Cuervo’s perspective paints a different picture, one of suspicion and doubt regarding the circumstances.

In a harrowing twist, Cuervo found himself on the receiving end of a chilling death threat, urging him to stay away from Mexico and refrain from arranging her final farewell.

The police have concluded that she died by suicide and hanging but Cuervo and some of her supporters still believe that she was murdered and that the suicide angle was just staged. Most especially because she was cremated soon after her passing and there was no chance for an autopsy.
