Cher is a legendary singer, actress, and LGBTQIA+ icon, known for her powerful voice, stunning performances, and unapologetic support for the community.

In 2018, she released a cover of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” to coincide with the release of the movie, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”. The song, which was a popular hit in the LGBTQIA+ community, was released with a lyric video that featured drag performers lip-syncing to the song.

She has also been involved in numerous other LGBTQIA+ initiatives and campaigns, including the “Love Rocks NYC” benefit concert, which supports LGBTQIA+ organizations in New York City.

    Although they may not be 100% straight (Moonbyul), I would add the K-pop group MAMAMOO to the list, for going above and beyond to not only support the LGBT community in their personal lives, but (at least in one instance), putting the spotlight on transexual performers they included as a surprise front and center in one of their most popular stage performances. MAMAMOO has always put forward a spirit of kindness, encouragement, and uncompromising authenticity in everything they do.
